The Seerat Un Nabi (ﷺ) Chair has been established at the 45th meeting of the Syndicate on December 23, 2022 with the noble purpose of promoting advanced research, high-quality teaching, and the meaningful dissemination of the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). It seeks to go beyond traditional narration and aims to explore the Seerah (Prophetic Biography) as a living, dynamic, and comprehensive framework for understanding and addressing the complex realities of the modern world. It is rooted in both academic and spiritual depth, the Chair strives to cultivate a deeper appreciation of the Prophet’s (ﷺ) exemplary character, leadership, compassion, wisdom, and guidance for humanity. This Chair envisions itself as a center of excellence where scholars, students, and the wider community can engage in serious intellectual inquiry. It aims to bridge classical Islamic scholarship with contemporary academic approaches, encouraging interdisciplinary research in fields such as social development, moral education, governance and leadership, economic justice, conflict resolution, community building, family structure, and intellectual thought. By doing so, it highlights how the Prophetic model provides timeless solutions to current global challenges. In addition to research, the Chair emphasizes innovative teaching through courses, seminars, workshops, and mentorship programs designed to inspire critical thinking and moral transformation. It is also committed to public outreach and dissemination, making Seerah knowledge accessible to diverse audiences through publications, digital platforms, lectures, and community initiatives.

Our Vision is to establish the Seerat-un-Nabi (ﷺ) Chair as a leading center of excellence in Seerah studies, dedicated to promoting the universal message of peace, justice, and mercy of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), and to present the Prophetic model as a guiding framework for the contemporary world.

Mission

Our mission is to organize academic activities, and engage society through education and training in the light of Seerah of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ). The Chair aspires to bridge classical knowledge of Seerah of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) with modern disciplines, enabling scholars, students, and policymakers to draw solutions from the Prophetic life for today’s challenges.

Objectives

1. To provide academic, intellectual, and moral guidance to students, faculty, and the wider community through the teachings of the Seerah Muhammad (ﷺ).
2. To address contemporary social, moral, political, economic, and intellectual challenges by deriving solutions from the Prophetic model.
3. To organize conferences, seminars, workshops, and training programs that foster dialogue and learning on the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ).
4. To educate and inspire the younger generation by introducing them to the character, values, and teachings of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ).
5. To encourage the practical application of Seerah principles for social reform, educational development, and moral excellence.
6. To highlight the universal and inclusive teachings of the Prophet’s Seerah (ﷺ) in interfaith, intercultural, and international forums.
7. To establish a vibrant academic and research hub that serves as a source of intellectual leadership and practical guidance for the Muslim Ummah.
