The Department aims to provide quality academic and research environment to the students. In addition, we are also availing every opportunity to improve the research capabilities of our graduates and consequently, contributing towards a healthy and skilled nation. The department offers programs of fundamental areas of Physics, Material Science, Semiconductor Physics, Electrodynamics, Laser Spectroscopy, Nano-Science, Plasma Physics & Electronics etc. The Department has a well-qualified faculty in various disciplines. Most of the faculty members are Ph. D and few are in the process of completing their Ph.D from abroad. The course work and research projects are designed for the students in order to meet both academic and industrial needs. There are two laboratories for the students. In addition, the projects of BS, M.Sc, M.Phil and Ph.D research students are carried out in collaboration with different National and International Universities/ Research Organizations. In 2016, more than 5 research articles have been published in the ISI journal
