TEACHING PROGRAMME IN ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES

Environmental conservation, sustainable development and alleviation of poverty are global concerns. Environmental degradation due to pollution, depletion of resources, and disintegration of ecological system leads to unsustainable development, endangering biodiversity and well being of mankind. Environment conversation is, therefore, of paramount importance, for which trained manpower is the basic requirement. Realizing this, it was decided to establish Department of Environmental Sciences at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology, Islamabad, to conduct teaching and research in this field. The Department of Environmental sciences will be offering the degrees of Bachelor of Science B.Sc (Hons), Master of Science (M.Sc) and M. Phil leading to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). The programs are designed with consideration of the modern concepts of environmental sciences education, as well as to encourage the development of individual initiative and resourcefulness with emphasis on responsibility and good judgment.
