Northwest A & F University, China Delegation Visits FUUAST Islamabad.
"Pakistan-China Academic Collaboration to Expand in Food, Health, and Energy Sectors".
The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences and Technology (FUUAST) welcomed a high-level delegation from Northwest A&F University, China, led by Prof. Dr. Lixin Zhang, Chairman of the Silkroad Biohealth Agricultural Industrial Alliance, Yangling. The visit marked a major step forward in enhancing academic and research cooperation between Pakistan and China.The distinguished Chinese delegation included Prof. Liang, Prof. Limin, Prof. Sun, and Prof. Shi. They were warmly received by Prof. Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari, Vice Chancellor of FUUAST, Dr. Ihtsham Ul Haq Padda, In-Charge of the Islamabad Campus, and Mr. Aleem Raza, Additional Registrar. An introductory session was held with heads of departments, faculty members, university officials, and students. During the session, Prof. Dr. Lixin Zhang, Prof. Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari, and Prof. Dr. Mushtaq addressed the gathering and emphasized the need for deepening bilateral cooperation in critical areas such as food security, biotechnology, environmental sciences, and higher education.Under the proposed collaboration, 1,000 Pakistani students and researchers will be trained at Yangling, China — including faculty members and students from FUUAST. The initiative will promote faculty and student exchange programs, support joint research projects, and facilitate the transfer of technology in key sectors such as health innovation, food security, and sustainable energy.This partnership aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to strengthen academic excellence and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China. The collaboration is expected to foster innovation, enhance productivity, and advance scientific development in both nations. The visit reflects growing educational and scientific cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative.
