The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences and Technology (FUUAST) welcomed a high-level delegation from Northwest A&F University, China, led by Prof. Dr. Lixin Zhang, Chairman of the Silkroad Biohealth Agricultural Industrial Alliance, Yangling. The visit marked a major step forward in enhancing academic and research cooperation between Pakistan and China.The distinguished Chinese delegation included Prof. Liang, Prof. Limin, Prof. Sun, and Prof. Shi. They were warmly received by Prof. Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari, Vice Chancellor of FUUAST, Dr. Ihtsham Ul Haq Padda, In-Charge of the Islamabad Campus, and Mr. Aleem Raza, Additional Registrar. An introductory session was held with heads of departments, faculty members, university officials, and students. During the session, Prof. Dr. Lixin Zhang, Prof. Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari, and Prof. Dr. Mushtaq addressed the gathering and emphasized the need for deepening bilateral cooperation in critical areas such as food security, biotechnology, environmental sciences, and higher education.Under the proposed collaboration, 1,000 Pakistani students and researchers will be trained at Yangling, China — including faculty members and students from FUUAST. The initiative will promote faculty and student exchange programs, support joint research projects, and facilitate the transfer of technology in key sectors such as health innovation, food security, and sustainable energy.This partnership aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to strengthen academic excellence and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China. The collaboration is expected to foster innovation, enhance productivity, and advance scientific development in both nations. The visit reflects growing educational and scientific cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative.

On March 3, 2025, an Orientation session was organized at Federal Urdu University, Islamabad for students admitted in Spring Semester 2025.On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari, welcomed the newly admitted students in various departments to Federal Urdu University. He stated that all students are fortunate to have the opportunity to pursue their education at this institution. He emphasized that students must make the most of this opportunity and that all positive activities will be encouraged. The university will provide students with a conducive learning environment alongside highly qualified faculty. He urged students to rise above all biases and pursue education with a spirit of serving the nation and the country, while also defining their own future path. The Vice-Chancellor advised students to stay away from negative activities and to respect their teachers. He highlighted that students are the future of every nation and expressed his commitment to working day and night to provide them with the best possible facilities. He concluded by saying that students must reward these efforts by becoming successful individuals..

On October 17, 2024, at the invitation of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari, the Director of UNESCO for East Asia, Professor Shahbaz Khan, and the UNESCO National Professional Officer in Pakistan, Mr. Syed Muhammad Raza Shah, visited Federal Urdu University, Islamabad. A special lecture was organized in the university auditorium for faculty and students. In his address, Professor Shahbaz Khan spoke on "Open Science" and "Artificial Intelligence," emphasizing the need to make scientific knowledge accessible to the general public so that society as a whole can benefit. He highlighted that the dissemination of scientific knowledge should be simplified, enabling all individuals to gain from it, rather than limiting it to a specific group. The Vice Chancellor, while addressing the faculty and students, expressed his desire for the university's teachers and students to make a name for themselves and the institution on a global scale. He urged them to maintain a high standard of learning and continue their efforts to be recognized at the international level. After the lecture, a meeting was held with the heads of departments, where the esteemed guests were introduced, followed by a question-and-answer session. Responding to one of the questions, Professor Shahbaz Khan shared that faculty and students can benefit from various UNESCO programs and stressed the importance of collaboration with universities in other countries to share knowledge and technology, preparing both faculty and students to meet the demands of the times. In response to another question, Professor Shahbaz Khan mentioned that efforts are underway to secure projects for acquiring technology and laboratories, and discussions with companies in China and other countries are in progress. At the end of the session, the distinguished guests were presented with shields, and the Vice Chancellor thanked them for their visit.

Independence Day ceremony was held in Federal Urdu University Islamabad, Dr. Ihtisham ul Haq Padda In-charge Campus, Muhammad Aleem Raza Additional Registrar, Heads of Departments and employees participated in the ceremony.The ceremony started with salute by spirited squad and Dr. Ehtishamul Haq Pada in-charge campus hoisted the flag. At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Hafiz Abdul Rasheed offered a special prayer for the security and development of the country, after which a special cake prepared for the Independence Day celebration was cut.
